Schulykill River Boathouse

A notorious landmark in Philadelphia is Boathouse Row along the Schulykill River. An exploration of joints and a group survey of the river bank, resulted in a boathouse designed for a coed crew team including locker rooms, weight room, boat storage and spectator areas. With the athletes acting as the joint between the land and water, the atmosphere becomes a dynamic combination of competition and excitement.

Observatory on Lancaster

Just off of Drexel's campus is the historic Lancaster Avenue, which has been changing along with the Urban fabric of the city, leaving behind void space and remnants of what used to be. Upon selecting an urban void, a space was created to accomodate a researcher studying the effects of thunderstorms while simultaneously experiencing them in the context of decay, and danger vs safety.

Experiential Folly

A diagrammatic composition transitioned into a series of relief models which then evolved into dynamic, repetitive components, before being integrated into a landscape. By arranging the components into a single progression an exploratory narrative became evident through a folly from multiple approaches and processions.

Schindler House

As a collaborative partner project, I conducted an analysis of the Schindler house built by R. M. Schindler in southern California. Recreating technical drawings of the house, along with original diagrams led to the discovery of important spatial conditions, and the opportunity to amend the home in the manner of Schindler.
